New Year Update!
Happy New Year! All of us at Immunity hope you had a wonderful holiday season! 2024 was a whirlwind, so we decided to share a quick review.
At the beginning of 2024, I (Dr. Jess) was installed as Vice President of the Kansas Chiropractic Association. This position requires frequent travel throughout the state of Kansas for meetings, lobbying efforts in Topeka and Washington, D.C., and attendance to the ChiroCongress, which was conveniently held in Denver this year. Simultaneously, I began a certification for Marquette Method Natural Family Planning, which is coming to a close. I’ve really enjoyed learning the protocol and valuable information they provide in the coursework; however, I do not plan to take their certification board at this time. Due to research limitations (which is understandable), they are against using quantitative fertility monitors as reliable tools as part of their protocol. Clinically, I’ve found these monitors to be more beneficial for subfertility support.
In the spring, we celebrated our Grand Opening of Immunity’s new (and current) office location in Leawood, KS, and launched our new website. Thanks to all who attended and supported us! You have no idea how much it means to us.
At the beginning of the summer, I went on my annual family vacation to Cuchara, CO. Once we arrived, we learned my Grandparent’s old cabin was for sale, and Nathan and I felt called to make an offer on it. The offer was accepted pending the sale of our beautiful Leawood home. We spent the rest of the summer finishing renovations on the house and finally listed at the end of August. We officially moved to Cuchara in October and have been getting settled into our new home and wonderful community. My aunt had inherited the home after my Papa passed away and sold the cabin “as is.” Interestingly, the owners didn’t change much, so it was like a time capsule of family items we’ve been sifting through the past several months.
Although my primary residence is currently in Colorado, I still remain dedicated to my responsibilities in Kansas and, most importantly, to my patients. I couldn’t do this without the team we’ve built at Immunity. Amanda continues her role as Clinic Manager and has provided amazing stability not only for the practice but also for me, personally, throughout the year. She and her husband, Dylan, and kiddos spent several days helping us finish our house “flip,” all while renovating their own home. Bailey is also still maintaining her role as Patient Navigator, and she welcomed her second sweet boy at the end of this year. I am forever grateful for this team and how we continue to roll with all the changes presented.
I want to clarify that we are still taking and seeing patients! I have been doing telehealth in Colorado for the past few months. I will be home every other month for those who prefer in-person visits. Here is a list of the intended dates that I will be in office for 2025 (dates are subject to change or open up, as I can get back):
February 11 & 13 (exact dates subject to change due to lobbying responsibilities in Topeka, but will definitely be there that week)
April 22 & 24
Dates TBD for June, August, & October
December 2 & 4
We are excited to see what 2025 brings as we continue to navigate all these changes. Please watch for an increased web presence this year with additional recipes, tips, and recommendations to optimize your health!
Wishing you many blessings in 2025!
Dr. Jess
